Description

Geometric group theory is a relatively new research field devoted to the study of the geometry of infinite groups and became a clearly identifiable branch of mathematics in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It closely interacts with low-dimensional topology, hyperbolic geometry, algebraic topology, combinatorial group theory and Riemannian geometry.  The goal of this conference is to bring together people from the various branches of the field to discuss recent developments in this area, and offer an opportunity for all the participants to make intensive exchanges of ideas.
